Job Objective:
The Senior Unified Communications Systems Engineer is a hands-on technical position that reviews designs, leads project deployments and provides operational support. Knowledge of Cisco Communications Manager and Unity platforms is a must. The position includes close interactions with Project Management and clients. This team member must be able to multitask, prioritize and excel in a fast paced team oriented environment. The ability to bring up VoIP and Data at new locations under tight deadlines is required, along with working with limited supervision. The individual must present a balance of technical knowledge, organizational skill, and professional presentation.
Responsibilities:
• Perform analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, installation, configuration, documentation and troubleshooting of Cisco Unified Communications environment.
• Provision Circuits (PRIs, T1, Private Lines, POTS, etc.)
• Deploy and maintain QoS and other network designs and parameters
• Ensure the stable and reliable connectivity of all networked systems
• Successfully manage customer expectations
• Understand client needs and support end users as required to provide a positive customer experience
• Coordinates with peer and contract-consulting staff to achieve project deliverables and time lines
• Communicate detailed information to appropriate parties and maintains strong working relationships
Qualifications:
• Prior implementation experience is a must; including design, implementation, ongoing management and troubleshooting in large (250+ phones) and small sized Cisco Unified Communications environments
• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills
• 3+ years of related network/IP Telephony administration and support
• 3+ years experience with Cisco VoIP phone systems
• Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills are required
• Excellent client management/resolution, problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills are required
• Strong time management & organizational skill
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Experience in the administration, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the following Cisco technologies is a must:
o Communications Manager & Communications Manager Express
o Unity & Unity Express (Voicemail only and Unified Messaging Deployments)
o Layer2 and Layer3 routing and switching
o Cisco Voice Gateways and routing protocols(SIP/H.323/MGCP/SCCP)
o VoIP & QoS
• Active Cisco Voice Specializations are highly desired
• Additional networking knowledge in security and wireless is a plus
• Consulting and project management experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of the following Cisco technologies are a plus:
o IPIVR, Unified Contact Center Express (CRS, CRA, UCCX)
o Unified Presence (CUP/CUPC)
o MeetingPlace Express
o Mobility Advantage
o Cisco Emergency Responder (CER)
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent work achievement.
Compensation: Range: $85k - $110k, plus bonus. DOE.
